Clothing brand Sooper Dooper Kids teams up with Dharavi Dream Project

With its One Purchased is One Donated pledge, impact-focused apparel brand Sooper Dooper Kids was a part of the Rahi Theatre Collaboration and Dharavi Dream Project, which established a platform for children to learn free hip-hop and display their skills.

Dharavi Dreams, India’s first musical hip-hop theatre production, was written and directed by Neha Singh. Thirteen teenage hip-hop artists from Dharavi performed live on stage at the event.

Dolly Rateshwar, Co-Founder at The Dharavi Dream Project says, “We are excited to work with Sooper Dooper Kids, a company that is dedicated to inspiring young people via creativity, just as we are. This collaboration is a wonderful example of how creativity and community can unite to produce something genuinely significant.”

Nevil Darukhanawala, Founder of Sooper Dooper Kids, believes that music and dance can be empowering for kids, “Seeing these gifted dancers hit the stage while sporting specially created Sooper Dooper Kids T-shirts was a gratifying moment for our brand.”

An investor in Sooper Dooper Kids, Sheikha Arwa Al Qassimi of the United Arab Emirates, was equally thrilled about the special partnership. She underlined that the Dharavi Dream Project is a perfect fit with Sooper Dooper Kids’ objective to have a positive effect and that it has the ability to improve the lives of gifted children from underprivileged neighbourhoods.

The Dharavi Dream Project began as a hip-hop initiative to provide free and convenient access to the “After school of hip-hop” for underprivileged children in Dharavi, the biggest slum in Asia.

According to the company’s “One Purchased = One Donated” policy, every time a customer purchases a T-shirt from Sooper Dooper Kids, one T-shirt is donated to a less fortunate child in India.

The firm distributes the donated T-shirts during monthly impact events in order to fulfil this objective in collaboration with NGOs that work with children.
